We have thunder, lightening and heavy rain; so it felt like a perfect opportunity to sit down and write this post!! I haven't taken part in Work In Progress Wednesday for ages - simply because my knitting was kind of at a stand still for a while, I had alot on and it just took a bit of a back seat. However here I am today with some pics, and a (nearly) finished object!!!
I am hoping to share the finished object on Friday but yes the bag that I started way back in January, is nearly finished - the 2 pieces are knitted and I just have to join them. I'm not sure if I am going to add a lining or not but here are the pieces:
On Saturday (my birthday - post coming soon); I went to Edinburgh and spent the day exploring new areas including the Grassmarket. I came across K1 Yarns, and kind of fell in love. Our LYS is not that friendly; so I either buy yarn etc from the local department store or online - it was nice to have a bit of a change. I have needed stitch markers for ages - and they had a needle sizer too; I have alot of vintage needles with no sizes so I picked it up:
I also found this yarn; I already have a skein of this in a turquoise colour but I saw this and I really could'nt help myself - I need more of this:
And of course, finishing a project means starting another - so I'm trying socks..... eek!!!
I spoke to the lovely lady in K1, and she advised me to buy this book, which I obviously did - I decided to go with the circular needle method so hopefully I'll have socks soon. I am not the quickest knitter by any means - so it might be a while.
I have a couple of other projects in mind - I saw the Gap-tastic Cowl on Ravelry; and I have to say I love the idea - can you imagine that in the yellow artesano???? I have a few other projects queued on my ravelry - my name is knittingv if you want to add me.
If you are here from Tami Amis WIP wednesday; say hi.... and if not, say hi anyway!!!! I'll be back either tomorrow or Friday with a 29 post.
love, V xoxo
EDIT - quickly editing; for some reason blogger will not let me comment on any blog at the moment, hoping to try and sort it but I am checking in on blogs atm.

That yellow is lovely. Enjoy your new gadgets!
Good luck with the socks! Great colour yarn!
Happy birthday! How nice to find a friendlier LYS. Good luck with the socks. Once you've learned how, they are such satisfying knitting projects!
Beware, sock knitting is addictive!!!
I'll be in Edinburgh in a couple of months for my honeymoon. I think I shall have to make a stop at K1 Yarns - they sound delightful :D
let me know how you get on with knitting socks. I've tried so many times and been unsuccessful. You might like the website ravelry if you're not already a member :) nice place to share patterns, photos of what youre working on, or just a place to record your projects for yourself x
