2009: Top 10 Layouts

~Afternoon all,
~Well as this year draws to a close, I have bronchitis....... eww!!! So I'm not feeling well at all but I thought I'd come by and share my top 10 layouts of the year. I've had a pretty busy scrappy year so choosing my top 10 was really difficult, I hope you like them:

~You Two
~Using Basic Grey Lime Rickey, done in November. This was my first layout showcasing a fairly new style for me - using lots of white space. I went on to teach white space classes over at The Everyday Scrapper.

~What I Did Today
~This layout was inspired by the lovely Lori, back in February. I loved the paint splat idea, and the idea of using bubble wrap straight onto the page.

~Self Portrait
~Lots of Sassafras involved in this layout, done in January. The photos were ones I took for my digital photography course, and some of them were altered slightly in Picasa!!!! The photos were then put into a collage and printed so I would have various sizes - this was my first layout working with small photos.

~Seasonal Bliss
~This layout used Basic Grey Indian Summer, which I fell in love with as soon as I saw it!!! After laying down all my elements before sticking anything, I decided the background needed something so I splatted paint straight on to co-ordinate with the cardstock matting around the photos.

~Driving Along In Your Automobile

~This was my first white space class for The Everyday Scrapper in November, and I really enjoyed doing it. The papers, again, are Sassafras and the title is taken from various different alphabets!!!

~The Look of Love
~Another one from February, using Love Elsie and Prima...... I never thought the 2 would work together!!! I also used cardboard in this one for the first time, and splatted it with paint and stickles, and stitched it straight onto the cardstock.

~First Kiss

~Using Crate Paper Lemon Grass collection, in March of this year. The photo is of my first kiss back when I was about 3, in 1985!!! I also used some prima flowers on this and some pieces from a Scarlet Lime kit!!!!

~Bookworms

~This layout was done in December and features Prima, my mommy and me paper as the background!!! I used lots of brightly painted chipboard on this layout of Jake and Ben reading. This layout balances both the main piece and the top lefthand corner.

~Boy

~Another using Sassafras and again from November, I love the bright colours in this and the fact that it uses 8 photos!!! The layout it's self doesn't have much on it in the way of embellishment but it stands out in my mind as one of my top 10 because I loved the finished look.

~Bouncy Baby

~Added to the Basic Grey Idea Gallery on 19th November, this one uses June Bug - another collection that I found very easy to work with. I used Tim Holtz masks and glimmer mist to create the word bouncy and used stamps to create baby. This is another one that balances the corners. The photos are of Oscar playing in his door bouncer in April.

~So those are my top 10, I know alot come from either the very beginning of the year or the very end - but I didn't do much scrapping over the summer months because I was moving and getting engaged - both which are my 2 favourite moments of this year...... I was going to do a top 10 photos of the year BUT it would be photos of me and Jay and of my ring!!! haha......

~This will be my last post of 2009, I have just 1 resolution for the following year and that is to lose some weight - I've become so relaxed I've gained a few more pounds than I'm happy with BUT I will eat healthier and go back to swimming - and hopefully have lost enough to be happy to start my college course in February. That's right - i got in!!! I start hair and beauty skills on February 1st!!!!!!! I hope you all have a fantastic New Year and that 2010 is all you wish it to be - mine already is.
